Skin allergy is a skin condition where the immune system reacts strongly to an allergen. The reaction can cause itchy skin rash, skin swelling, hives or blisters. Common triggers include medications, airborne substances, chemical, dyes and food.  To establish if an agent is truly the cause of skin allergy, various tests can be performed after a careful and detailed clinical history.  These may include skin prick tests, patch tests and specific blood tests.

Treatment for allergies

Once the offending allergen is determined, avoidance will be recommended. Treatment will be prescribed to relieve the itching, swelling, or pain.
